Coal Mill Conversion
•Feasibility study for using coal as an alternative source of energy for HFO (Heavy Fuel Oil) started in Q4 2012, where the study revealed several advantages after taking into consideration energy sources trends (natural gas and HFO) in the local market as well as the global trends for coal (price, sources and quality). •Simultaneously the company studied types of coal mills available in the global market and several meetings were held major companies specialized in this field to study the prices offered and types of the proposed mills. •It was decided to implement the project as “Turn Key”, and the Vertical mill type was selected. •GebrPfeiffer Germany was the selected supplier and main contractor assigned for the project. •The agreement for the project was signed on December 2015, and the “kick off meeting” was held in Cairo on 20th January 2016. •The expected project time is 14 months, where BMIC starts using coal during third quarter of 2017.
